Co-creating space for diverse voices.
Meet Claire, MA, CPCC, PCC
As a coach and consultant, I work with purpose-driven individuals and organizations committed to deeper social impact. The work is challenging, exhilarating, connected and inherently hopeful.
With a Masters’ degree in social history, and a background in strategic communications and integrated strategic design, my work is with leaders, boards, and teams from the non-profit, private, and public sectors.
I use cultural exploration, Positive Intelligence™, storytelling, and strategic design, to inspire and focus our work. Clients expand their presence as change leaders; define and operationalize their social impact choices; and align their cultural and strategic initiatives to shift behaviours and advance systemic change.
Before founding Borealis, I owned and lead an independent strategic communication firm; advised public sector and Crown Corporation executives; designed and taught communication and governance programs for post-secondary institutions; and lead non-profit organizations and government communications departments during disruption and transformation.
Committed to making coaching accessible to a wider community, I co-founded CoachActisim in 2016. This global collaborative provides pro bono coaching to frontline workers and volunteers serving refugee and humanitarian crises.
This experience and knowledge, and a deep passion for social justice work, is what I bring to the table. Whether you seek coaching or consulting services, I look forward to being part of your journey.
Is Borealis Right for Me?
I collaborate with change makers focused on creating a more equitable society.
You ask challenging questions, are prepared to work through uncertainty, and will advocate for change in the face of resistance.
You expect frank conversations, inclusive approaches, and strategic thinking.
I want to understand your story – what brought you to this point of departure and what you aspire to – individually or as an organization.
Together we will design an approach where creativity and strategy align to move your agenda forward.

Testimonials
Claire is a strait shooter; she doesn’t sugar coat the challenges; she is intuitive; and she sees things others don’t.
We also know she is there working on our behalf.
And, she’s approachable. When I’ve picked-up that phone and called her after we’ve finished a piece of work, she makes the time to understand what I need and either answer questions right away or send me information to consider.
Being new to the organization and having no clearly defined established practice for strategic planning, I appreciated that Claire took the time to learn about our organization’s history and goals.
She took time the to understand who each of the participants were and did an excellent job ensuring everyone in the room had a voice and as such, was able to contribute.
Claire’s knowledge about building blocks of an organization such as values, principles, and purpose paired with expertise regarding board operations enabled our team to develop a new vision and mission, and to refine our purpose as well as set meaningful strategic goals.
